t has been recently reported that rapper, Jay Z is selling his .067% stake of the Brooklyn Nets to former NBA player, Jason Kidd. Mr. Carter reportedly paid $4.5 million dollars for the team in 2003 and now his stake is worth less than $500,000. Jay Z has recently started his own Roc Nation Sports Agency and the other owners of the Nets believe it will be a conflict of interest if the Brooklyn businessman is representing other athletes from different teams. This news comes as a surprise because in July, during his promotion of his recent Magna Carta, Holy Grail album Jay Z stopped by the 105.1 Power’s Breakfast Club and stated that he still owned the Nets and had no intentions of selling his share. For years now, Jay Z has been the most recognizable face of the Brooklyn Nets; however, it should be interesting to see if Jason Kidd has any new innovative ideas for basketball team.
